Safeguarding Statement
I am committed to providing a safe and supportive therapeutic environment for all adults and young people.
As a UKCP and BACP-registered psychotherapist, I follow national safeguarding legislation and guidance, including the Children Acts (1989, 2004) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).
I hold an enhanced DBS check and undertake regular safeguarding training and supervision.
While therapy is confidential, there are limits: if I believe a young person or someone else is at risk of harm, I have a legal duty to share relevant information with appropriate safeguarding authorities.
If you are concerned about a child’s safety, contact East Sussex Children’s Services (SPOA) on 01323 464222 or the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000.
GDPR & Data Protection Statement
I take your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and comply fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Any personal information shared with me — including contact details, therapy notes, and correspondence, is stored securely and used only for the purposes of providing therapeutic services, maintaining professional records, and meeting legal or ethical obligations.
Information is never shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law or where there are serious concerns about risk of harm to you or others.
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time.
Privacy Notice
Your confidentiality is central to our work together.
I collect and store only the minimum amount of personal data necessary to provide therapy safely and effectively. This may include your contact details, brief notes from sessions, and relevant correspondence.
All records are stored securely in password-protected digital files or locked storage and are retained for up to seven years after therapy ends (or until a young person reaches 25, whichever is longer), in line with professional guidance.
You can request to view the data I hold about you at any time by contacting me via the details on this website.
Further information on your data rights can be found on the ICO website: www.ico.org.uk.
Complaints Policy
I am a registered and accredited member of both the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their respective Ethical Frameworks and Professional Conduct Procedures.
If you have any concerns about our work together, I encourage you to raise them directly with me so that we can discuss and, where possible, resolve the issue.
