Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy

My late-life diagnosis of ADHD and autism was nothing short of life-changing. For years I had carried a sense of being “different” without the words to explain why. Finally having that clarity was both a relief and a revelation, it gave me permission to understand myself with compassion rather than criticism. It also reshaped the way I work as a therapist, deepening my commitment to offering neurodiversity-affirming therapy where clients can feel seen, understood, and supported in their whole selves.

Why Neurodivergent Clients Need Something Different

Many autistic and ADHD clients tell me that traditional therapy never quite ‘fit’. Sessions often felt too rigid, abstract, or overly focused on ‘fixing’ traits that are simply part of being neurodivergent. That can leave people feeling unseen, unsupported, and even more isolated.

I know this first-hand. My own late-life diagnosis of ADHD and autism was monumental. For the first time, I could understand myself through a lens of compassion rather than criticism. It reshaped the way I work as a therapist: today, I offer neurodiversity-affirming therapy where difference is respected, strengths are celebrated, and challenges are met with empathy and practical tools as well as my clinical foundation.

My Approach: A Hybrid Therapy-Coaching Model

I combine the depth of integrative psychotherapy with the practicality of coaching. This means sessions can hold space for both emotional exploration and real-world strategies.

Depending on your needs, sessions may include:

  • Therapeutic exploration – processing emotions, relational patterns, grief, identity, and self-esteem.

  • Coaching tools – supporting executive function, creating realistic routines, and finding practical ways to manage overwhelm.

  • Psychoeducation – understanding how ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergence shape your experience.

  • Relational work – improving communication and navigating friendships, family, or partnerships.

  • Grief and trauma support – holding the additional layers of loss or trauma through an ND-affirming lens.

This flexible, integrative model means we can adapt session-by-session, meeting you where you are on any given day.

Who I Work With

I work with adults who are:

  • Diagnosed (or self-identifying) as autistic (ASD), ADHD, or AuDHD

  • Exploring what their neurodivergence means for identity, work, and relationships

  • Managing stress, burnout, or sensory overwhelm

  • Processing grief or loss through the lens of neurodivergence following a recent diagnosis

  • Seeking a safe space where their whole selves can be seen and supported

Why Choose Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy?

  • It’s not about “masking” or “fixing” — it’s about working with your brain, not against it.

  • You’ll be met with compassion, lived experience, and professional expertise.

  • We’ll create both emotional depth and practical change — not one without the other.
